August 3rd Yalta

Hello everyone,
Well we set out for Yalta at 8:00 am . We have never gotten her this early but when we arrived she came right down and was ready to go. We made another stop to get Oksanna before we set out. Jeff Gordan asked us how we do in the car as far as getting car sickness and we said we would be fine but Oksanna brought medicine just in case...I thought how bad could it be....well..it was curvy and beautiful. We stopped a couple of times on the way there to take pictures of the view. It was awesome.

When we reached the top there were 6 or 7 observatory there and the view down the other side was amazing. The far side next to the sea falls off real fast and at the foot is Yalta and it is an amazing city. Iwill post a few pictures at the bottom of the blog. On our way down the mountain we stopped on the side of the road and fixed lunch. Jeff Gordan suprised us with pork, potatoes, tomatos and alittle grill to cook it on. Then on to town.
The beaches in Yalta are not what most people think of when you say beach, there is no sand its all rock, very small smooth river gravel type rock thats not to bad to walk on. It will burn your feet like sand. The water is beautiful, the wave's alot softer than the ocean. Madison has never been to Yalta, she has only been to Feodosia which is very nice but not the same as Yalta. She loves the water, I saw a large group of jellyfish and told her to stay away, so she swims up and grabs one goes to hand it to me. The jellyfish here do not sting, they look the same but not the same misreable results when you come in contact with one. We took lots of picture and then we all laid out for a while and enjoyed the relaxation, had dinner (left overs from lunch).
We left the beach and walked through town to find the Catholic church that was having a concert that night. It was a organsit and flutist who did ovatures from Bach, Mozart and many others that we couldnt understand their names. We sat on the front row because this was something Madison had picked to do. The concert was wonderful. We left the church to walk on the warf and look at the lights and boats. Madison was in awe. She got her picture taken with a pirate and by a fountain. That is all she asked for. She wont let us buy her anything except food. Not like when our other children were younger and take them somewhere like a carnival they would have wanted to play games, buy stuff and eat...ha...We wanted to be back by midnight because our elevator shuts off between 12am-6am and Donna refuses to do the steps so she would have choose to sleep outside. We started home and Madisons said she wasnt tired but we were not even out of Yalta city limits and her head was bobbing so Donna rested it on her shoulder and secured it for the ride back....Oh did we tell you we got to keep her last night....SUPRISE...we got back to the apartment and she went straight in and got her PJ's on we brought with us and told us night and she was out like a light...I was glad because we didnt know how she would do being away at night from the orphanage...The only bad thing is we had to have her back at 8am this morning so we feel like we are missing a day with her but it was nice to go wake her up this morning and see that pretty smile....We are going to go see her now and we will post more later today about our today visit.
Love
Jeff and Donna
